A successful year for the Biogen Idec webshop

For nearly a year, arvato services healthcare has been managing Biogen Idec’s webshop, which allows the company’s sales representatives to order Biogen Idec marketing and information materials online. The results after one year show that the expectations were met.

The system is currently registering up to 200 online orders per month. The intuitive menu navigation enables users to order materials themselves. Each user can select from specific product lines and order products for delivery on a requested date. Immediate confirmations alert users to the availability and order status of all ordered materials. Inventory levels are continuously checked and updated through a direct connection to SAP. This has led to a corresponding reduction in the time and money Biogen Idec devotes to centralized order entry. The great success has led to plans to expand the webshop to additional countries in Europe.

Since 2003 arvato services healthcare has been responsible for supplying pharmacies in select countries and for the international distribution of temperature-sensitive Biogen Idec products. In 2006 arvato services healthcare began managing the logistics of marketing and information materials as well. Material orders since 2007 have gone through the webshop developed and implemented by arvato services healthcare.
