The Trend toward Direct Business

If one observes the distribution channels of medications, a clear trend has emerged over the past year, away from the traditional route via wholesalers and toward direct delivery to pharmacies by manufacturers.*

The direct-to-pharmacy model, which was originally developed for direct distribution of biotech products with special requirements for transport and storage, has since been extended to mass-produced medications. In Great Britain, well-known companies have already cast aside the traditional distribution model and switched their entire product range to direct distribution.
