Dangerous Goods Handling
arvato services healthcare monitors compliance with the regulations governing the transport of dangerous goods by all modes of transport; handles the storage, packaging and loading of dangerous goods; and prepares the relevant paperwork for the authorities. Any defect that could threaten the safe handling of the goods during transport is reported immediately.
Overview of services by mode of transport:
- Completion of mandatory ADR (accord europeen sur le transport des marchandises dangereuses par route) paperwork and packaging for road transport.
- Completion and signing of the “Shipper’s Declaration for Dangerous Goods” following inspection or execution of proper packaging in accordance with International Air Transport Association (IATA) regulations.
- Coordination, planning and execution of dangerous goods sea transports in compliance with International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) codes. Proper packaging of the dangerous goods for sea transport and completion of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) declaration and the container packing certificate, if applicable.
- Coordination, planning and packaging of dangerous goods rail transports in compliance with all legal provisions and the Regulations concerning the International Transport of Dangerous Goods by Rail (RID).
Ongoing continuing education and refresher courses
arvato services healthcare employees receive regular, comprehensive training. The dangerous goods packagers, the Dangerous Goods Manager and the entire staff are IATA-certified.
